International Promotion of Japanese Ceramic Culture

Cultural Market Development: Bringing Made in Japan to the World

We provided overseas market development support for Kato Akira Shoten, which was actively working to spread Japanese ceramics and ceramic culture. Their activities went beyond simply selling ceramics; they studied cooking to convey the appeal of ceramic culture, offering suggestions and advice on using ceramics based on food trends. Inspired by their proactive attitude, we developed presentations for overseas chefs and interested parties, while marketing to top international chefs.

We also focused on parties frequently held in the fashion industry, wondering if ceramic presentations could be incorporated. When we approached a world-famous fashion designer with whom we had previous contact, they showed great interest. After extensive discussions, we developed original ceramics featuring the brand’s logo. The designer insisted, “I want my logo included, but please also include ‘made in Japan'” – we manufactured and exported ceramics engraved with both.
