Promoting Agricultural Products’ Appeal and Potential Through New Approaches
We provided support for promoting South Shinano agricultural products over 13 years. We first visited production areas and interviewed farmers to research the appeal and value to be communicated. After determining the promotional approach, we established a limited-time shop in Nagoya (for 3 years), the nearest urban consumer area from South Shinano. We provided comprehensive direction including concept development, product selection, store design supervision, and staff training, nurturing it into a “store where conversations happen,” beloved by the community.
This project evolved to include consultations from individual farmers, ultimately supporting about 30 farms as a unified brand. We pioneered “connecting farmers and restaurants” (still uncommon at the time) by organizing chef field training sessions and farm restaurant gatherings to deepen understanding between both parties. We also established our own agricultural product wholesale business, which we operated for over 10 years. Since the founding of “Office MUSUBI,” learning about agricultural fields and realities has been central to our activities, which is why we were able to continue this business for many years.
